“Do one thing a day that scares you.”
This quote, taken from the Lululemon Manifesto, speaks volumes about how I have approached the past year in regards to my Crossfit journey. I started Crossfit in June 2012, 8 months after having our beautiful son, Hudson, who is a “future Crossfitter”. I instantly fell in love with it! But it scared the sh*t out of me! As a former gymnast, I feel there are many aspects of the sport of fitness that really speak to me and so when Greg started introducing the Olympic lifting in the on-ramp sessions, I was intrigued but definitely apprehensive.
Now, some of my favourite WODS include clean & jerk and overhead squats. My most favourite sport is mountain biking. I find that since starting Crossfit, my riding has improved immensely. I am stronger, faster and generally more fit and I credit all of this to Greg and my Crossfit family, we hold each other accountable and the community aspect is like none other I’ve experienced.
In April 2013, I completed the Level 1 Trainer Certification and have been coaching for a short period of time but really feel as though I’m fulfilling a lifelong dream and I really love the energy that I get from the athletes at Crossfit Canmore.
My coaching approach is all about having fun while providing clear, concise instructions to my athletes in a safe, inclusive environment.
Come on out and throw down with some of the most committed, down-to-earth, healthy athletes I have the pleasure of coaching!
