The Coaches and Affiliates involved in the 1st Annual CrossFit Coolaborative Challenge realize that a large number of athletes are competing in the CrossFit Games Open during this time.  Those athletes are welcome to join us in our competition, but we also realize that a vast number of individual athletes who enjoy competition may not be registered to compete in the CrossFit Open.  We wish to give those athletes a chance to compete in something not quite so large, with not so many regulations, in a shorter time frame, and less intimidating format, etc.  The secondary purpose of the 1st Annual CrossFit Coolaborative Challenge is to continue building positive relations between our CrossFit gyms and providing the best opportunities for individual athletes, despite age, fitness level and experience,to pursue fitness in a positive and fun manner.  All are welcome to enter at no charge.  There will be 3 divisions for athletes to enter (RX, Scale 1, Scale 2).

Competition Description

  • Everyone is welcome to sign up.  Just us know that you are planning on competing and you are on the list. The competition is FREE if you are a CrossFit Canmore member.
  • WODs will be released every Sunday night for you to view.  The WOD for that weeks challenge will be put into the regular programming.  Results must be submitted by Sunday by noon at the latest
  • It will be 1 WOD per week for 4 weeks beginning on March 28 and culminating on April 24.
  • There are no prizes but the best prize of all……PRIDE!!!
  • Coaches will send results in an excel spreadsheet with the athletes name, affiliate, time and division to CrossFit Lethbridge where all results will be tabulated and released for individuals to view.  Please do not submit your own results, but provide them to your coach for a single submission.  Even if you complete the WOD early in the week, no results will be posted until that Sunday night in order to ensure all affiliates participating are on a level playing field and no one gets access to anyone else’s results until the end of the week.
  • During the week please feel free to post comments on the Coolaborative Challenge webpage and indicate what CF you are participating from.  Remember to keep your results to yourself to keep from giving an edge to other affiliates and athletes who have yet to do the WOD.  If you leak it, we won’t remove it….your bad!!
  • You do not need judges, nor a special session to compete in.  Your word, and that of your coaches, is proof enough that the WOD was done within the parameters.  CrossFit believes in honesty and so do we.
  • Everyone will receive points on every event.  Points correspond to the number of competitors involved in the competition in each category.
